The wide variety of surf spots in Taghazout Bay, located just a stone’s throw from our surf camp, allows us to select the ideal location for your daily surf lessons. Even during a heavy swell, we can guide you to sheltered spots offering smaller waves perfectly suited to your level.
Planning to visit during the low summer season? No worries: our proximity to “swell magnet” spots ensures that, even with minimal swell, we will always find surfable waves for you.
Daily selection of surf spots for all levels
To make the most of every surf session, we choose the surf spot every morning based on real-time conditions: swell, wind, tide, and crowds.
Unlike many surf camps limited to a small local area, we are committed to finding the best possible waves, even if it means travelling beyond the immediate vicinity. Our priority is to provide waves suited to everyone: perfect beach breaks for beginners to learn and progress in total safety, as well as magnificent “green waves” for intermediate surfers looking to perfect their technique.
This approach guarantees rapid progression. Even complete beginners often manage to ride green waves after just a few days! Thanks to the proximity of numerous spots in Taghazout and our willingness to travel further for optimal conditions, you will surf the best available waves every single day.
Our local surf spots in Taghazout
The surf camp benefits from several Taghazout surf spots accessible either on foot or within a few minutes’ walk or drive.
Banana Point: The Taghazout "Home Spot" within walking distance
One of the most beautiful surf spots in Taghazout Bay, the Banana Point right-hander is located directly in front of our surf camp. In less than a two-minute walk, you can access this legendary point break which adapts to all conditions:
- Up to 1.5m / 2m: It is a forgiving and playful wave, perfect for intermediate surfers looking to refine their riding technique.
- Beyond 2m: Banana wakes up, gains power, and becomes hollower, guaranteeing intense and memorable sessions for advanced surfers.
K12 (The Twelve): One of the only lefts in Taghazout
Located just a few steps from Zen Surf Morocco, K12 is a precious Taghazout surf spot, as it offers one of the rare lefts north of Agadir. The take-off is on a flat rock ledge, providing a well-defined A-frame peak:
- The Left: Soft and manoeuvrable, it allows for a fluid ride, ideal for working on your first turns.
- The Right: More powerful and fast, it offers superb rides (though watch out for the rocks at the end of the section). It is the perfect surf spot for an efficient session without the logistics.
K11 (The Eleven): Taghazout’s other left
Located at the southern end of our beach, K11 is the “big sister” of K12. This left, which breaks over a rocky ledge, is more demanding and powerful. This Taghazout spot shines particularly during moderate swells (up to 1.8m). It offers steep walls and hollower sections. It is the preferred spot for intermediate to advanced surfers seeking an adrenaline rush.
mourane and Devil’s Rock: Versatility at its best
Imourane beach is the closest beach break to Zen Surf Morocco. It is an easy wave, making it an ideal spot for beginner surfers taking their first steps, as well as for intermediate surfers looking for easy, less demanding waves.
To the right of the main beach lies a point break known as Devil’s Rock, which can hold a few pleasant surprises and offer quality waves, though it is generally less consistent than the other more famous point breaks in the Taghazout region.
Crocro: The largest beach break in Taghazout Bay
Discover Crocro Beach, a long and beautiful stretch offering numerous peaks, ideal for both beginner surfers learning the basics and intermediate surfers wishing to progress. Its popularity with surf schools is due to its consistent and forgiving waves.
Beyond the surf spot itself, Crocro Beach offers a superb setting to relax on the sand after a great session and enjoy the unique sight of camels wandering by while sipping a mint tea served by a local vendor.
Panorama: A beginner-friendly beach break near Taghazout
Located close to Taghazout, Panorama Beach is another lovely beach break, particularly suited to beginner surfers during large swells when other spots are unsurfable. Furthermore, the rocky point at the Taghazout end of the beach can offer a world-class right-hander during a massive swell!
Tamri: One of Morocco’s best swell magnets
When other surf spots in the Taghazout area are flat, Tamri is THE must-visit destination. Its unique exposure makes it an exceptional “swell magnet,” attracting waves every day of the year.
This large and magnificent beach, which retains its wild and untouched charm at a river mouth, offers a truly authentic surfing experience. When the sandbanks are well-formed, Tamri can provide excellent surf sessions, more than justifying the 50-minute drive from our Taghazout surf camp.
