Frequently Asked Questions

All you need to know before your stay at our surf camp in Morocco

You've just booked a stay at Zen Surf and obviously have some questions. Here are the answers to most of them 😉

There is nothing special to bring with you, just don’t forget to pack light clothes, a swimsuit and a beach towel, and a warm sweater in case it gets chilly at night (especially at winter time). A valid passport will also help a lot 😉

Don’t worry we do transfers at all times of day and night. On your arrival at the airport, a driver will wait for you outside the airport terminal with “Zen Surf Morocco” on a paper. If you have any trouble finding him, you can either Whatsapp Nico at (+33) 6 17 41 23 78 or Saïd the manager of the surf camp at (+212) 6 66 17 94 79

From Marrakech it’s very easy (and safe) to take a bus to Agadir, both with CTM or Supratours companies. Their terminals are 20 minutes from the airport by taxi and there are buses every hour until late at night, it costs 10€/ticket and you can book on site. We will gladly organise the pick-up at the Agadir bus station, all you need to do is send us your bus details (with arrival time and company name) by txt or Whatsapp message and we will send a driver to pick you up at the Agadir bus station. Another option would be to organise a private pick-up in Marrakech, but it would be extra (120€/trip, up to 5 people).

Of course there is, we have high-speed Fiber internet with powerful wifi routers for your convenience.

Yes they are the same as in continental Europe. You’ll need an adapter only if you come from the UK.

Sure they are, we are a guest house and provide all of these. Please note that we provide liquid soap for the hands, you’ll have to bring your shower gel and shampoo, or you can easily buy some at the local convenience stores at the village.

Don’t worry we have many beginners so you won’t be the only one 😉 We do group levels so you’ll be in a beginners group. Our surf coaches are very patient and will teach you surfing with a smile and in total safety.

Very easy, you can get a free SIM card after customs near the luggage claim carousel, and get a data top-up for an affordable price.

The best way is to bring foreign currency in cash with you and exchange it on site, because local ATMS take crazy charges and your bank will also charge you a fee. There are exchange offices with a decent rate at the Agadir airport: they are the ones located after X-ray customs checks before the exit of the terminal (do NOT go to the one next to baggage claim, it’s a rip-off). We also have exchange offices at our village.

Here is what your days at Zen Surf will look like:
  • 08:00: the morning Yoga class starts (it lasts about 1h)
  • 08:30: breafast is served
  • 10:00: the group leaves to the beach for surf lessons and guiding
  • 16:00: surfers come back from the beach
  • 17:30: afternoon Yoga class
  • 19:00: dinner
  • After dinner: guests gather in our nice inner courtyard for chatting the night away or playing guitar/board games 😉

Tap water is not drinkable in Morocco. At the camp we take environment concers very seriously, and we installed a reverse osmosis water purification system that produces 100% clean drinkable water from the tap water. This avoids having to buy 100 5-liter plastic bottles per week (!!), which is that much less plastic produced and dumped in our beloved oceans.  Unlimited water is included during all meals and on the beach. If you need a separate water bottke for the night, we sell water in refillable glass bottles for a very cheap price (0,5€/liter) to sponsor the changing of filters (that we need to change regularly) and to buy new bottles when they get broken.

Yes we can! We have a vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu available for your convenience. If you have more specific needs you can simply let us know during the reservation process and we will write your special needs in our food agenda. Easy!

You have booked an all-inclusive surf package, which includes all meals and unlimited water during meals and on the beach. We provide soft drinks and home-made drinks on site for very cheap rates (sodas, teas, infusions, espressos, fruit juices, banana/avocado shakes, ginger ale, etc…) On site we provide excursions and activities (especially on Saturday, that is the day of rest of the surf coaches), and we can book a wide variety of experiences for you on site for very affordable prices:
  • Paradise Valley trip (20€/person)
  • Sandboarding session in the sand dunes of Tamri (30€/person)
  • Trip to Imsouane (30€/person)
  • Agadir souk visit (price of a taxi = 30€/return trip, up to 6 people)
  • Traditional hammam/massage (25€/hour)
  • Horse ride on the beach and the surrounding hills (from 25€ to 45€ depending on duration)
  • “Little Desert” 4×4 day tour (with traditional lunch at a local family’s place): 80€/person
On site we also provide optional insurances that get you covered if you get injured while surfing of break a surfboard. They are optional: you don’t have to book them if you feel that you don’t need them 😉

Our surf house is very quiet during the day when everyone is out surfing. Our Moroccan lounge is a nice place to sit and work using our wifi connection. We have installed Fiber Optic Internet at the house so you won’t have any trouble doing video meetings with your colleagues.
